Overview

Primary Objective: 

 

The Director of Finance has accountability for leading and managing the Finance and Accounting function.  This position will work with key leaders across multiple functional areas to ensure that the business is operating effectively, with sound financial analysis, and with appropriate financial and operating controls in place, while interacting with many groups inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  •  Oversee and manage all financial and accounting related activities including budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and cost accounting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to continually assess organizational performance against annual budget, company strategic goals and profitability objectives.
  • Counsel the company on fiscal control and profitability; present and interpret the financial results for managers and leaders building financial aptitude company-wide.
  • Drive Finance and Accounting department objectives with FP&A Manager and Accounting Manager for timely execution and expected results.
  • Develop and maintain financial tools, models, and reports to consolidate data from a variety of sources, ensuring accuracy and transparency with functional leaders.
  • Develop, lead, and have overall management responsibility for the Finance and Accounting team
  • Consolidate detailed reports on financial performance, key assumptions, opportunities, and risks on a quarterly and annual basis for Executive Leadership and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee annual financial audit ensuring effective controls and appropriate application of
  • Oversee annual tax and compliance filings aligned with corporate tax strategy and any regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior leadership to develop the annual incentive and commission plans.
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with our Board of Directors, auditors, bank representatives, tax advisors, attorneys and others as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • Experience leading and managing a team

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills, work ethic, problem solving ability, and overall positive attitude
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems, statements and reports
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret and communicate financial results and reports to non-financial leaders with actionable data
  • Executive presence, ability to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to drive projects to completion when starting with unknowns, competing priorities and other challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Master’s in business administration (MBA)
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA)
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial report writers
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hrs/day.
